Organizations, Schools, and Websites with Additional Material
Order of the Seven Hearts
The organization founded by Tom Leoni and myself; dedicated to the study of various systems of Historic
Italian Swordsmanship.
HEMA Alliance
The HEMA Alliance (HEMAA) is a service organization for the Historical European Martial Arts community.
It is incorporated as an educational non-profit in order to provide a wide range of services from a stable core whose
educational mission is legally bound by open bylaws and democracy.
Marozzo.com
This is a website run by Ilkka Hartikainen a friend and associate who researches, practices, and
teaches Bolognese Swordsmanship; Ilkka is a very dedicated and talented martial artist. I would highly recommend taking
classes from Ilkka to any students of Bolognese Swordsmanship.
Richard Cullinan's Website for the Dardi School
Richard resides in Australia where he is pretty much the face of Bolognese Swordsmanship. Richard's interpretation
manifests as a robust and effective style of Swordsmanship. I most definitely recommend Richard's
instruction to anyone able to take classes from him.
Marozzo.org
William Wilson, founder of The Tattershall School of Defence
runs this site to provide access to some of his translations and interpretions of material for Bolognese Swordsmanship.
Not only has William been practicing and teaching this stuff for a very long time (perhaps longer than almost anyone in
the US), he has provided much of the United States WMA community with their first sources for this system and continues
to do important research and interpretive work for this system of swordsmanship.
Sala d'Arme
This Italian organization researches and teaches Bolognese Swordsmanship (and also other schools of
historical Italian Sworsmanship). Of special note is the fact that the transcription of
The Anonimous Bolognese Manuscripts
is available from Il Cerchio Books
as a result of much time and hard work by instructors from this organization.
